I’ve just started curating a Vimeo channel, head over there and follow and I’ll try my hardest to bring you the best outdoorsy, adventure videos.
These are some of my favourites…
Life on the fells
This is a beautiful story, beautifully shot. This is not just about running. It just talks to me about the power of sport and the power of nature.
Jack rocks my world. He’s taken himself off into the wilderness after his wife died. He is living a life off the beaten track to get away from swarms of people. He’s not looking back though he’s moving forward and living the quiet life he wants, living and making violin bows.
The Thousand Year Journey
“Routine is the enemy of time. It makes it fly by”. Jed decides to do something radically different to shake up his life. Jed heads off on his bike from Oregon to South America, this is a quick sample of his adventure.
This is a preview of a new feature film from Patagonia. It features an area of North America which is one of the last places Grizzly Bears can freely roam. Will capitalism ruin this?
Wild Hut Microadventure
Alastair Humphries has put out loads of microadventure videos but this one is great as it’s about people gathering and making friends, learning new things. It’s like getting back to being kids.
Down to Nothing
This is a film wonderfully shot and put together. Burma intrigues me as a country as my Grand parents lived there for a time. Now that it’s opened up, people are exploring it, but with no infrastructure it’s quite a mission, these guys push themselves to the brink.
From Timber to Tide
I love boats, especially wooden ones. Ben Harris builds beautiful traditional boats and makes me wish I had a manual craft like this. As he says wooden boats are “the closest thing you can make to animal, it has wings…”
